The Institute of Technology Blanchardstown, (ITB) is delighted to announce that Denise Lyons, Lecturer,  Department of Humanities here in ITB has been elected President of Social Care Ireland.

The umbrella organisation ‘Social Care Ireland’ is made up of three social care representative bodies; the Residential Managers Association (RMA), the Irish Association of Social Care Educators (IASCE), and the Irish Association of Social Care Workers (IASCW).

Describing establishment of Social Care Ireland as a historic development , Minister for Children - Frances Fitzgerald TD stated that Social Care Ireland demonstrates the continued commitment of social care workers, residential managers and educators towards providing quality care for vulnerable people in society.

Denise will continue to lecture full-time at ITB while working as President of Social Care Ireland.
Speaking about her thoughts for the Presidency of Social Care Ireland, Denise stated how honoured she is to accept the two year role, and acknowledged that in the current climate Social Care Ireland has an important job to do.
