Congratulations to Catherine Phoenix (Year 2 Computing) on winning a scholarship to take part at the 2017 UNITE Europe Games Conference to be held this June in Amsterdam. Her entry to the competition was an interactive, multi-level 2D-platform game ( see screen shot above) using hand-drawn graphics and this was part of her Interactive Multimedia module for a European competition.
Catherine's project was supervised by Dr. Matt Smith.

This competition for female computing and engineering students across all of Europe was run by Wooga, a German mobile games company. Catherine was selected as one of the 5 women to be awarded a scholarship that will fund them to travel to and attend the UNITE Europe 2017 Unity computer games conference.

UNITE is an annual European developer conference for Unity-the market leading platform for creating video games, simulations and other interactive 3D, 2D and VR/AR content.

What our students say...

Monika Karaliunaite

"Basically the course covers everything to do with digital and online media. I had it as a hobby in sixth year but when I came here I learned so much more."
