RECE

From October 27 - 31, 2015, the Early Childhood Care and Education Programme, Department of Humanities, Institute of Technology Blanchardstown, will be hosting the 23rd international Reconceptualising Early Childhood Education (RECE) Conference on campus and the Crown Plaza Hotel, Blanchardstown, Dublin.

This year's conference, organised around the theme Narratives of Difference: Translations, Transgressions, and Transformations, will engage a diverse community of early childhood researchers, practitioners, activists and other cultural workers from around the world.

RECE is less an organization than an evolving group of early childhood educators who come together each year to discuss cutting edge research, theory, and practice. The reconceptualist movement in early childhood education gained momentum among scholars around the world in the 1980s and the first RECE Conference was held in Madison, Wisconsin in 1991.

Since that time, conferences have been held in locations across the U.S. and in Australia, Norway, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Palestine, UK, Canada and Kenya.

The conference is now inviting proposals from early childhood researchers, practitioners, activists and other cultural workers.

The deadline for submissions is April 10th, 2015.

Information about conference registration, accommodation, travel and social events for this exciting conference will be made available on our website in the near future.

For more information on RECE and the call for papers, visit the RECE website or contact the RECE Conference Coordinator, Aideen Hodgins on 01 885 1032 or by email aideen.hodgins@itb.ie

What our students say...

Monika Karaliunaite

"Basically the course covers everything to do with digital and online media. I had it as a hobby in sixth year but when I came here I learned so much more."
