ITB's annual Robotics Summer School ran from 15th - 25th June this year.

Over 100 students from St Patricks Senior National School in Corduff, Scoil Mhuire in Blakestown, St Philips School in Mountview, Ladyswell School in Mulhuddart and Blanchardstown Youth Service came to ITB for the summer camp. They were exposed to the exciting and challenging world of Information Technology.

The children worked together building robots from Lego, they then programmed the Robots, as well as, playing fun games and sports each day. The students had a graduation on the final day where the children were joined by their parents and friends. They had the opportunity to demonstrate their Robots and we also saw some further talent in the form of Irish Dancing, Singing, Break dancing as well as an excellent photography show on the final day.

The Robotics Summer School was run by ITB students and was a great success. One teacher commented "The ITB students really made the Robotics School a memorable time for the children; they are great role models for the children because they are so enthusiastic and helpful".

The Robotics Summer School is one of the many initiatives which ITB undertakes on a regular basis as part of its commitment to promote positive perceptions of the value of, and the enjoyment that can be gained from technology.

ITB run Robotics School as part of its Third Level Access Initiative.

"Basically the course covers everything to do with digital and online media. I had it as a hobby in sixth year but when I came here I learned so much more."
