Main door
The main library door is located on the first floor of the library building.
There is a set of
security gates immediately inside the library door. The alarm will sound if any library resources are taken through the door without
being checked out.
The
book returns bin is located immediately outside the main library door. Books and other library resources can be returned here when the library is
closed. The book returns bin is emptied each morning.
Emergency exits
There are four emergency exits on each level of the library. In the event of a fire please make your way to the nearest exit.
In the event of a fire, please make your way to the meeting point; the meeting point is located in the carpark at the bottom of the steps leading to the LINC
building.
Library desk
In term-time the library desk is open from 9.15am - 8.00pm, from Monday to Thursday, and from 9.15 - 5.00pm on Friday.
You can borrow, renew, return or reserve books at the library desk; all library-related queries can be directed to staff at the library desk. The
self-issue machine is located near the library desk. Follow

how to borrow books using the self-issue machine.
Student information desk
In term-time the student information desk (SID) is open 9.15am - 5.00pm, from Monday to Friday.
SID deals with administrative queries for registered students of ITB. You can learn more on the
SID
website. Please bring your student card when you come to the student information desk.

Computer services helpdesk
The Computer services helpdesk is staffed as follows:
10.30 - 11.00am, 2.00 - 2.30pm, 5.30 - 6.00pm: Monday - Thursday
10.30 - 11.00am, 2.00 - 2.30pm, 4.30 - 5.00pm: Friday

Bookshelves
Text books are shelved on level 2; each book has a class number between 000-999 and a label on its spine. Books are shelved in
order of their class numbers so that you can find them easily on the bookshelves.
Other resources, such as annual reports, official publications, fiction, student projects etc are shelved on level 1; print journals are
also shelved on level 1. Search the
library catalogue for the availability and precise location of any library book.
Seating areas
The library is divided into
three noise zones using the traffic light system:
The green zone is for group study
The orange zone is for individual study
The red zone is for silent study
Please sit in the area that is most appropriate to your needs; and please respect other students as they study in the library.
Library catalogue
The library catalogue is a database that contains information about all of the books, journals, reports, audio-visual material, online resources etc. that the
library owns. The catalogue can be accessed via the internet on-campus and off-campus; there are four dedicated catalogue PCs in the library.

library catalogue to check the location and availability of library resources. See this

Printers
There are three printers in the library: kopikat 1, kopikat 2 and kopikat 3.
