Minimum Entry Requirements
Applicants must have a GIS Certificate or hold an Advanced / National Craft Certificate in Plumbing obtained after 1999.
Note :
Original Certificates must be produced prior to commencement of training.
Course Aim
The programme will provide an extensive insight into Domestic Gas Installations and will prepare candidates for end of programme Theory and Practical Assessments leading to qualification GID (HETAC) , required to register with RGII as a Registered Gas Installer (RGI) which is a legal requirement for anybody working on domestic gas installations as per the Energy (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2006 with effect from 01st January 2009

Who Should Attend ?
Qualified Plumbers who wish to upgrade their skills and knowledge to enable them to install and commission domestic gas installations and appliances in accordance with current standards and regulations. The requirement for increased regulation in this sector is derived from the high volume of gas appliances, gas burners and gas boilers currently installed in Irish homes. The Gas Boiler Servicing sector presents an opportunity for a qualified technician to generate repeat business on an annual basis as Gas boilers must be serviced at regular intervals
Registration & Assessment
Assessment will consist of end of unit written and practical tests that assess candidate’s ability to recall and apply theory and understanding. Successful completion of this course will lead to qualification (GID) required to register with RGII as a Registered Gas Installer (RGI).
