Minimum Entry Requirements

Holders of an appropriate Ordinary Bachelor Degree in Applied Social Studies in Social Care should apply to CAO in the year for which admission is sought. Entry is subject to normal entry requirements.

Year 4
Semester 1	Challenging Behaviour in the Social Care Sector Advanced Research Methods and Practice 1 Leadership & Supervision in Social Care Practice Contemporary Policy and Practice Issues in Social Care * Elective –Successful Ageing and Social Care Practice or Combatting Racism and Cultural Mediation or Issues & Practice in the Disability Sector * Two Electives must be selected from Semester 1
Semester 2	Child Protection Practice and Policy Advanced Research Methods and Practice 2 Management in Social Care Practice Elective – Mental Health and Therapeutic Interventions or Understanding Substance Misuse or Advocacy in the Social Care Sector Two Electives must be selected from Semester 2.
NOTE: All of the above Electives in Year 4 are planned in harmonisation with mandatory modules; however, additional electives may be offered in the future to reflect educational requirements in specialist areas within the social care sector. The choice of electives are dependent upon learner demand and resource availability and may vary from year to year.
