ITB Humanities lecturer among keynote speakers at Social Care Ireland Annual Conference 2016

Denise Lyons - Lecturer in the Department of Humanities here at the Institute of Technology Blanchardstown will be among the key note speakers at the Social Care Ireland Annual Conference 2016 to be held on 14th and 15th of April 2016.

Her keynote "Balance the Care" will aim to highlight issues currently facing Social Care Workers and to balance the care for all. Denise is a qualified Social Care Worker and Art Therapist, lecturing in both social care and creative modules. She has played an active role in the Irish Association of Social Care Educators (IASCE) and Social Care Ireland (SCI) for many years and was the President of SCI from 2012 - 2014.

 

 

Other key note speakers at the conference include Dr. Mark Smith - Senior Lecturer and Head of Social Work at the University of Edinburgh, Dr. Ben Charnaud, Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist and Ms. Ginny Hanrahan, CEO, CORU - Ireland's Health and Social Care Professional Regulator.

 

 

The annual conference will bring together over two hundred social care workers, managers and educators from across Ireland each year to explore relevant practice, policy and research issues related to Social Care Work. The Conference will also offer a range of workshops and presentations to delegates on practice, policy and research in Social Care related to the theme of Conference, as well as emerging issues within the profession.
