Staff volunteers here at the Institute of Technology Blanchardstown were at the Castaheany Educate Together National School in Ongar recently to help the school children explore & discover the joy & love of reading for themselves as part of the Time to Read Programme.
The Time to Read Programme facilitated by the Schools Business Partnership is a unique programme that partners schools with business & aims to increase the enjoyment of  and confidence in reading whilst encouraging self-discovery for the participating children.

Reading takes place in the school library and staff volunteers will continue reading for 6 weeks in semester 1 and 6 weeks in semester 2. Volunteers will spend one hour a week in the school but will work with two children, giving each 30 minutes of their time.
By getting involved our volunteers hope to make a valuable contribution to the life of a young child thereby rewarding themselves both in a personal and professional sense.

What our students say...

Monika Karaliunaite

"Basically the course covers everything to do with digital and online media. I had it as a hobby in sixth year but when I came here I learned so much more."
